Computing Student Stories

ATU Computing student Natalie Chiyaka

I completed a PLC course in Technology and Robotic Engineering which led me to choosing Software and Electronic Engineering in ATU. Being an international student, I thought the learning would be difficult, especially my lab work, but with the small class sizes and the personal connection you build with your lecturers it has made it easier.

ATU Computing student Danielle Mc Laughlin

I chose Cyber Security & Digital Forensics because I knew that it would open my career opportunities to a wide range of roles. The small class sizes were perfect and allowed us to engage with the lecturers who were always supportive and offering guidance. During my studies, I participated in team projects as part of assessments. These were invaluable and I learned how to work well as part of a team in a dynamic setting.

ATU Computing student Ellen Woodward

The common first year is brilliant. I was unsure of which area of computing I wanted to study. It allowed me the opportunity to experience a wide range of modules before deciding which area to specialise in. We also focus on personal development. This prepares us with increasingly important soft skills such as teamwork and problem solving.

ATU Computing Student Ellis Mcguiness

I chose this programme because I have a general interest in Business and ICT and there is such a high demand for technology driven graduates in this area. We are learning the latest industry-relevant modules which vary from software systems to marketing. The North West of Ireland is a great place to study with great student life.

Ellis McGuinness, BA (Hons) in Business and ICT
