
Conferring
All students who have completed a major award since our last conferring in November 2022 will be invited to a ceremony in May to receive their parchments. These include Level 6 Higher Certificate, Level 7 Ordinary Degree, Level 8 Honours Degree, Level 8 Higher Diploma, Level 9 Post Graduate Diplomas, Level 9 Masters Degree (Taught and by Research) and Level 10 Doctorate Degree.
Ceremony Information
The ceremony will take place on Thursday, 4th May 2023 at 6pm on our Galway City campus. Those attending are asked to arrive 1hr before the ceremony commences. Further details will be provided in your invitation to attend the Conferring ceremony.

Invitation to Conferring
ATU will send an email invitation to students who are eligible to graduate at the May Conferring ceremony. A copy of the invitation will be sent to your recorded postal address. It is important that all students invited to attend respond, notifying the University of your intention to attend, non-attendance or your wish to graduate at the November 2023 ceremonies.
All invited students must RSVP by Friday 14th of April to ensure you receive your ticket allocation or parchment if not attending.

Gowning
All graduates must pre-book robes with the official robe-makers, Phelan Conan Limited before Midnight Monday 1st May 2023. Robes may be pre-booked on line at www.phelanconan.com. The hire fee is €40.
Due to the implementation of a personal 3D secure password during the credit card payment process on https://www.phelanconan.com Phelan Conan Ltd staff are no longer able to take bookings over the phone. This has been created to protect your online payments and if you don’t already have a 3D secure password you can activate it by following the simple instructions during the booking process. If you experience any further problems with 3D secure process, please contact your bank.
Robes can be collected from between 3pm and 5.30pm on the day of the graduation from room 1031 ATU Galway .
Cash will not be accepted. All gowns must be returned to Phelan Conan as soon as possible after the conclusion of the ceremony.
Photography
Professional graduation photography will be available at the ceremony. No advance booking is necessary. Reserve and pay on the day.
Minor or Special Purpose Awards
Students who completed a minor or special purpose award this academic year e.g. certificates will receive their Parchments through Digitary CORE and not at an in-person ceremony. These will be issued by the end of March. For all enquires in relation to accessing Digitary, please email conferring@atu.ie.
