Peer Learning Games

Supporting Student Engagement & Teaching and Learning Development

PASS in ATU Galway is designed to help first year students cope better with all these aspects of life at third level. It plays a key role in enhancing the experience of first year and easing the transition to third level. PASS Leaders choose a category from the activity options below and learn about student engagement strategies and techniques.

If you are a lecturer in ATU Galway, you will enjoy learning about the wide range of peer learning strategies you can activate in your classroom. Choose a category below and explore more! The strategies can be delivered as part of an online or face to face module. Implementing the peer learning games requires the use of ‘Breakout Rooms’ in the online classroom. Learn about activating these strategies with the ATU Galway Teaching and Learning Centre contact TLC.GalwayMayo@atu.ie to book a workshop session.

The peer learning games were originally developed by the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Centre for Supplemental Instruction and then adapted by Dr Carina Ginty, ATU, into a teaching and learning development toolkit for staff and students. For further information, contact carina.ginty@atu.ie
