Course Overview
This programme is appropriate for learners with no prior knowledge of French who wish to gain the basic skills and insights necessary to communicate in French within a professional context. Their learning will be based around the context of the culture of French-speaking countries. Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be deemed to have reached level A1+ of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Entry Requirements
Grade O6/H7 or better in five Leaving Certificate subjects including English or Irish and Mathematics with a minimum of 160 points. English or Irish with a minimum grade of O6/H7 or better meets the English or Irish entry requirement. Mathematics with a minimum grade of O6/H7 or F2 or better meets the minimum mathematical entry requirement. Mature candidates (23 years of age or older by 1st January in the proposed year of entry) are exempted from the standard.
