Why did you choose this course?
I chose to do this course because of its flexibility. I was able to balance my work and personal life alongside studying in the evenings, so the part-time aspect of the course was very appealing.
What modules have you found useful?
Game analysis has been particularly useful, especially learning how to use different software to break down matches and identify the skills and aspects of the game that you want to highlight and improve within your team. I currently coach under-seven and under-eight boys’ teams, which can be quite challenging.
Can you tell us about some of you key learnings from this course?
One of the key things I have learned from the course is the science and psychology behind teaching and learning, particularly how children learn at different speeds and levels. Often, the information you think you are communicating is not necessarily what the children are actually hearing or understanding. Developing a greater awareness of this has helped me build the skills and tools needed to deliver messages more effectively and improve players’ development.
