We have invested heavily in our learning facilities and academic supports to ensure our students are fully supported throughout their academic journey.  

Academic Integrity

Academic Writing  

Students of all abilities can benefit from our academic writing supports. These include getting started with assignments, effective notetaking, report writing, avoiding plagiarism, successful writing in exams and the writing process which includes generating ideas, drafting, revising and editing. You can access these facilities on a one-to-one basis, as a small group or online.

Assistive Technology  

Assistive Technology (AT) can help you overcome barriers such as communication difficulties, mobility issues, sensory impairments and cognitive and learning difficulties. ATU offers a range of AT supports to eligible students following a needs assessment. These include laptops, Roger Select, Connect 12, echo pens, printing facilities, reader pens, touch screen tablets and specialised software.  

Clinical Skills in Nursing

The Dudley Practice Area (DPA) is the Clinical Skills Simulation Learning environment in the School of Nursing and Health Studies at ATU St. Angela’s. The state-of-art facility enhances clinical skills development of student nurses during their four-year degree programme. Learning Support

Learning support tutors provide tailored supports such as study skills, essay planning, time management and exam preparation to eligible students following a needs assessment. These supports, offered on a one-to-one or group basis, facilitate academic development, participation and progression. Support may include appropriate assistive technology for you.  

My Digital Backpack

My Digital Backpack is an online platform where you can sign up to complete short non-accredited courses. Complete one of the many digital badges available including:

Library  

The ATU Library supports research, teaching and learning in all libraries across our campuses. The multicampus library team provides dynamic support in the evolving library space. ATU students and staff have access to almost 230,000 physical books, 270,000 e-books and over 70,000 eJournals. In addition to over 1100 newspapers, 80 databases and 170 library guides. They also run events throughout the year 

Maths Support 

Our innovative and friendly maths support centres offer the extra support that you may need. Services include consultations, tutorials, computer-based tutorials, access to relevant text materials and the option to submit maths problems for correction. You can access these facilities on a one-to-one basis, as a small group or online.  

Online Past Exam Papers

To help you revise and prepare for exams, past exam papers are available online to fully registered ATU students from the library website.
