Partnering to strengthen our region

Professional women sits at table during business lunch

RISE@ATU is designed to create meaningful partnerships between Atlantic Technological University and enterprises across the Northern and Western region. Through a series of targeted initiatives, the programme will support over 230 non-commercial enterprises—ranging from SMEs and social enterprises to multinational corporations—with tailored, non-financial research and innovation services.

Partnering for regional innovation

These supports include collaborative research projects, enterprise placements, mentoring, training, and knowledge exchange activities. A particularly exciting initiative is the enterprise-embedded placements for our Postgraduate Research Training Programme students in year 2 of their 4-year PhD programme.

By connecting enterprises with research expertise at ATU, and co-designing solutions with industry partners, RISE@ATU ensures that innovation is grounded in real-world needs and opportunities.

In collaboration with the External Engagement function, RISE@ATU project staff will lead enterprise development, commercialisation, and incubation activities. We will leverage new systems, such as CRM Engage, to streamline how ATU connects with external partners.

RISE@ATU will foster a vibrant ecosystem where academia and enterprise work side by side to address challenges, share expertise, and drive sustainable growth. This collaborative approach will strengthen the region’s innovation capacity and position ATU as a trusted partner in enterprise development.
