Lean Construction – Yellow BeltThe Lean in Construction Yellow Belt provides students designed to develop frontline practitioners who can actively support process and workplace improvements in construction projects. Participants learn to apply core Lean concepts and tools, including an overview Last Planner System, visual management, and methods for identifying and reducing waste. The programme focuses on practical skills, including monitoring performance and applying structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis techniques. Learning Outcomes 1. Lean Construction Principles & PracticesThe Lean in Construction Principles & Practices will equip the learner with a strong theoretical and practical foundation in Lean thinking as applied to the construction sector, enabling them to identify waste, improve processes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives on construction projects. Learning Outcomes 1. Analyse construction processes to identify the eight wastes and sources of inefficiency. |

Lean Construction Project & LeadershipThe Lean in Construction Project Leadership will enable learners to lead a Lean Construction improvement project from conception to completion, demonstrating Green Belt-level competence in problem-solving, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable process improvement. Learning Outcomes 1. Lead a structured Lean improvement project using DMAIC or A3 methodology. |

Entry Requirements
A pass level 5 programme (Leaving Cert).
OR
Five different subjects at GCSE grade C or better to include English/Irish and Maths with a minimum of 160 points.
OR
Equivalent qualifications and scores from other countries which will be assessed and scored by the university.
Advanced Entry
Applications are welcome from candidates who have successfully completed cognate programmes at a lower level, and who wish to apply for advanced entry. Candidates who wish to apply for advanced entry to this programme apply directly to the university, providing documentation relating to results and programme content. These are assessed, and if appropriate and places are available applicants are admitted at a level appropriate to their prior learning.
Students that completed the Yellow Belt will be exempt from the Yellow Belt Module in this Green Belt programme.
Mature Applicants
Applications from mature applicants (aged 23 on or before 1st January of the course commencement year) are welcomed by ATU. A quota of places is reserved for mature applicants. These applicants do not have to meet the Leaving Certificate entry requirements and are considered on an individual basis (previous education, work experience, and demonstration of ability and competence to undertake the programme).
