Course Overview
Our Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Agriculture with degree award options: Animal and Crop Science or Environmental Management prepares you for a career in the Agri-Business sector. It’s a dynamic and diverse industry, and our four year course leaves you perfectly positioned for an exciting future.
This is a BSc Honours in Agriculture that will provide you with key skills in Animal Husbandry, Animal Science, Soil and Plant Science, as well as Environmental Science and Agriculture Business Management and Marketing.
The course incorporates a substantial work placement in Year 2 where you can gain significant work experience, with Year 3 expanding and building on the knowledge you’ve learned to date. Meanwhile Year 4 allows you to focus on one or two disciplines: Animal and Crop Science or Environmental Management.
When you graduate you’ll have the core skills to work in the Agri-Food sector in a variety of roles including becoming a Farm Manager, R&D Scientist or Environmental Manager.

Advanced Entry
Applications are welcome for entry to stage 2 of a programme at ATU, following completion of a cognate QQI FET Level 6 Major award.
Transfers into years two, three or four are also welcome from those who have completed learning in a cognate area in another Higher-Level Institute (HEI).
