Children’s Activity Programme

Welcome to ATU Donegal’s Sports Centre’s Children’s Activity Programme. We host Easter Morning Camps, June School Days Out, July Summer Camps, Birthday Parties and more. The activity is available to children of staff, students, the community and schools. Everyone and all abilities are welcome

In our 20th year, Easter Camp 2026 welcomed 76 children aged 6-13 years and the Summer Camp 130 children in the first 2 weeks of July. 33 primary schools were welcomed in June (1075 children) for activity packed school tours, the 16^th year of the programme. All in all, a fun filled lively and dynamic time with lots of happy children. Thanks to all the fab children who participated and their parents / guardians.

Easter Fun Mornings

The Easter Fun Mornings 2027 will be held on Monday March 22nd, Tuesday 23rd, Wednesday 24^th and Thursday 25th, 9.30am-1pm. Children may attend any amount of days. Bookings will open in January 2027. Thank you for your interest.

The Easter Fun Mornings are held annually, in the week leading up to Easter, for children ages 6-13 years. 

The novel activities include fun relays, orienteering, foam polo, tug -of-war and games galore. Everyone and all abilities are welcome.

June School Days Out

The School Days Out 2027 programme will run between Tuesday June 2nd – Tuesday June 23rd, 2027.  Bookings will open in February 2027. Thank you for your interest.

Every June ATU Donegal welcomes primary schools for an end-of-year day out. The fun day runs between 9.30am to 3pm, or at a time that suits the school, and is packed with games and novel activities. There is something for everyone and all abilities are welcome.

The emphasis is on fun, exercise and enjoyment while trying something new and exciting. Supervision is guaranteed. Teachers can put their feet up, or join in, and have a fun day too.

Activities include: Archery, foam polo, parachute, jenga, mind games, orienteering, fun curling, bowling, fun and games galore.

Summer Camp

Kool Kats Summer Camp 2027 will take place on Monday June 28th- Friday July 2nd (week 1) and Monday July 5th – Friday 9th (week 2). The camp offers two separate weeks with the same activities in each week. The activities usually include a mid-week bus trip to an attraction or place of interest in County Donegal. ATU Donegal Sport Centre has been hosting its fun packed annual Kool Kats Summer Camp every July since 2005. The activities include orienteering, mind games, arts & crafts, fun curling & bowling, a day trip and fun & games galore. Everyone and all abilities are welcome.

Birthday Parties

Have your child’s birthday party at ATU Donegal Sports Centre. Fun and games galore are provided in our large welcoming hall where kiddies just want to expend energy – move, run, hop, dance, crawl, shout, sing! Our staff will take the party off your hands. A separate room is available for food and drinks. 

• Hire of hall and eating area (up to 15 children, 6 years +): €125

Duration: 2 hours.

Availability: Friday evenings or Saturdays up to 2.30pm. Other days are available during holiday periods.
