Courses
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Nutrition, Food, and Business Management – Tertiary Degrees
Course Overview
This tertiary degree programme aims to support students who are passionate about food and nutrition and motivated to acquire business knowledge to excel in the food and beverage sector. The built in QQI L5 Food Science provides students with the foundations in Science and Nutrition before progressing to ATU.
Students discover the science and strategy behind the food industry as they explore nutrition and sensory evaluation, food law, and the global trends shaping trade, regulation, and sustainability. Students also learn how modern food production and innovation technologies and labelling legislation impact the market, balancing a blend of academic and practical learning in our dedicated food technology and science laboratories.
Starting their first year with Sligo College of Further Education OR Leitrim College upon successful completion of their QQI Level 5 in Food Science, students will be offered guaranteed progression pathways to programmes linked below.
Each programme will follow the Tertiary Access Route structure of your first year in your ETB (Sligo or Leitrim) and your remaining four years in ATU with the exception of the BSc in Science in which your remaining years in ATU are three.
