Tell us a little bit about yourself and what led you to choosing your course?

I chose this course due to my overall interest in business, as well as the wide variety of career pathways available after graduation. I was also drawn to the diversity of modules, which allow students to explore different areas of business such as marketing, entrepreneurship, and accounting.

What are your favourite modules on the course?

My favourite modules are Accounting and Economics. I have always enjoyed Accounting, even during school, and it is something that comes naturally to me. I also find Economics very interesting, as it focuses on real-life situations and helps develop an understanding of practical issues that apply not only to business but to everyday life.

Is there anything else about your course that you particularly enjoy or find beneficial?

One of the aspects I really appreciate is the strong communication with lecturers and staff. Everyone is very supportive and encourages students to reach out for help or advice whenever needed, which creates a positive and supportive learning environment.

What is the best thing about your course that you think new applicants should know?

A great aspect of the course is the balance it allows between academic work and social life. By attending lectures and staying on top of coursework, students still have plenty of time to enjoy life outside of college, including part-time work, sports, and other hobbies.

If you were speaking with a first-year student about to start your course, what advice would you give them?

I would advise them to attend their lectures, stay organised with deadlines, and not be afraid to ask for help or guidance. It’s also important to make friends and enjoy the overall college experience.

Tell us about any extracurricular activities you are involved in.

I am a Sport Scholar at ATU for basketball. I am currently competing in the semi-finals of the college league with the ATU Galway women’s basketball team, and I also play for the University of Galway Mystics in the Ireland National League. I train six days a week, and ATU provides excellent support in terms of academics, financial assistance, and the overall student-athlete experience.

What are your plans after ATU and your long-term goals?

After ATU, I plan to continue my studies and achieve further qualifications in the business field, while also continuing my sporting career. My long-term goal is to establish a sports development academy for young athletes in Ireland, where I can support them in both their education and training using the experience and knowledge I have gained.
