Tell us a little bit about yourself and what led you to choosing your course?

I felt that engineering was a suitable course for me after achieving strong results in my Leaving Certificate maths exam. I have also always had an interest in the subject, which made it a natural choice for me.

What are your favourite modules on the course?

CAD is one of my favourite modules, as it is very engaging and provides a great introduction to engineering and manufacturing. It allows you to develop practical design skills that are highly relevant in industry.

Is there anything else about your course that you particularly enjoy or find beneficial?

I really enjoy the practical aspects of the course, particularly learning how to use different machines and working on my own projects. These experiences are both enjoyable and beneficial, as they help develop hands-on skills.

What is the best thing about your course that you think new applicants should know?

One of the best things about the course is that it opens up a wide range of opportunities for the future, both within engineering and in related fields.

If you were speaking with a first-year student about to start your course, what advice would you give them?

I would recommend the course to anyone who has an interest in engineering. It’s important to stay engaged, put in the effort, and make the most of the opportunities available.

Tell us about any extracurricular activities you are involved in.

I play hurling with the Galway senior inter-county team, which is a big passion of mine outside of academics.

What are your plans after ATU and your long-term goals?

I plan to continue developing my career in the engineering sector while also pursuing my sporting goals alongside my studies and beyond.
