Sligo Induction
Welcome to Atlantic Technological University!
If you’re starting at ATU Sligo this September, your induction will take place on campus on Wednesday 10th or Thursday 11th September.
You’ll find out which day to attend in August.
Read below to learn what happens at induction and check out the fun events and activities we’ve planned to welcome you to college.

Please note: you’ll only be able to access the Student Hub and Moodle VLE once you’ve fully registered as an ATU Sligo student.
Pre-induction orientation events
The following groups of students will be invited to attend an orientation event before the main induction day:
- Mature Students
- Students on the DARE scheme
- Students on the HEAR scheme
- Students in receipt of Access Scholarships and 1916 Bursaries
- International Students
- Neurodiverse Students
These sessions are here to help you settle in.
You’ll get useful information based on your course, answers to common questions, and advice on important topics.
We’ll also explain the supports available to you and help you get to know the campus.
You’ll get an invitation by email with more details.
Family Day
Parents, carers, brothers and sisters – your whole family is invited to our Family Day!
We know that moving away from home for the first time can feel like a big step. Family Day is a chance for you and your family to:
- Meet our staff
- Learn about the student support available
- Explore the campus
Join us on Tuesday 9th September, from 3pm to 5pm.
Induction Day
Your induction day will take place over a full-day on campus. All new students must attend.
Depending on your course, you’ll attend on either Wednesday 10th or Thursday 11th September. Check here for your schedule – it will be available in late August.
The induction day aims to be fun and interactive. It gives you a chance to:
- Meet your classmates
- Get to know the campus
- Meet your lecturers
- Get more information about your programme and timetable
- Find out more about student life
- Learn about the supports available for you
#First5weeks
Our #First5Weeks Welcome Programme kicks off in the first week of term and is open to all new and returning students.
It’s designed to help you settle into college life and make starting third-level education easier. Each week has a different theme to help you explore the academic, learning, and social supports available on campus.
Watch for updates in our weekly newsletter, on social media and on posters around campus.
