Welcome to Atlantic Technological University!

If you’re starting at ATU Sligo this September, your induction will take place on campus on Wednesday 10th or Thursday 11th September.

Check below for details of when you should attend, find out what happens at induction and read more about the fun events and activities we’ve planned to welcome you to college.

Join us online for a quick overview of the ATU Library services and a tour around the website! We recommend that all student go to their nearest branch for a full tour, so in this session we’ll just walk you through our various services and show you where to find what you need on our website: www.atu.ie/library

Getting Started with the Disability and Learning Support Service

3 – 4pm

This session is for:

  • New students who have accepted their place in ATU Sligo through the DARE scheme
  • New students who have not accepted their place through DARE but may be eligible for support in relation to a disability, health condition or specific learning difficulty 
  • Parents or supporters of new students who fit the above description 

The session will include a brief overview of the Disability and Learning Support Service (DLSS), eligibility criteria, registration requirements, and supports available. There will be time for questions.

Starting university is an exciting milestone – and we know it’s a journey your whole family takes together. That’s why we’re inviting parents, carers, siblings and extended family to join us for Family Day on campus!

Family Day is a chance for you and your family to:

  • Meet our friendly staff 
  • Discover the wide range of student support services
  • Take a guided tour of our beautiful campus

Join us on campus on Tuesday 9 September, from 3pm to 5pm

It’s a great opportunity to see where your student will be studying, ask questions and feel part of their next chapter. We look forward to welcoming you!

Induction Day – Wednesday 10 September OR Thursday 11 September 2025

Your induction day will take place over a full-day on campus. All new students must attend.

Depending on your course, you’ll attend on either Wednesday 10th or Thursday 11th September. Please check-in at Main Reception (entry by the Fish) on arrival. Find out what day and time to attend below. For those arriving early, refreshments will be available from 8.30am in the main canteen.

#First5Weeks

Our #First5Weeks Welcome Programme kicks off in the first week of term and is open to all new and returning students. It’s designed to help you settle into college life and make starting third-level education easier. Each week has a different theme to help you explore the academic, learning, and social supports available on campus.
