Galway-Mayo Induction
Welcome to Atlantic Technological University!
If you’re starting ATU Galway-Mayo this September, your induction will take place on campus on:
- Galway City – Dublin Road & Wellpark Road: Thursday 10 and/or Friday 11 September
- Mountbellew, Mayo, Connemara: Monday 14 September
You’ll find out which day to attend under the Induction Days section below. Read below to learn what happens at induction and check out the fun events and activities we’ve planned to welcome you to ATU.

CAO Information Day
We will be hosting an information day on Thursday 27 August 2026 from 11am to 2pm on the Galway Dublin Road campus. Incoming first year students along with their parents and guardians are welcome to attend to explore the campus, meet support staff and find out more about getting ready for the start of term.
Pre-Induction Orientation Events
The following groups of students will be invited to attend an orientation event before the main induction day:
- International Students: On campus, TBC. Students will receive an email invitation from ATU Global: international.galwaymayo.atu.ie
- Mature / Further Education Entry Students: on campus; TBC. Students will receive an email invitation from the Access & Widening Participation office access.galway@atu.ie
- Transitioning to Higher Education: Your Health and Wellbeing Webinar: online, TBC.
- Students on the DARE scheme: online, TBC. Students will receive an email invitation from the ATU Disability Office: disabilitysupport.galwaymayo@atu.ie
- Neurodiverse Students: online, TBC. Students will receive an email invitation from the ATU Disability Office: disabilitysupport.galwaymayo@atu.ie
- Students on the HEAR scheme: on campus; TBC. Students will receive an email from the Access & Widening Participation office access.galway@atu.ie
These sessions are here to help you settle in. You’ll get useful information, answers to common questions, and advice on important topics. We’ll also explain the supports available to you and help you get to know the campus.
Induction Days – coming soon
Your induction will take place on campus. All new students must attend.
The induction day aims to be fun and interactive. It gives you a chance to:
- Meet your classmates
- Get to know the campus
- Meet your lecturers
- Get more information about your programme and timetable
- Find out more about student life
- Learn about the supports available for you
