This practical programme is designed to develop learners’ capacity for creative thinking, idea generation, creative problem-solving and innovation within organisational contexts.

These competencies are increasingly recognised as essential across all sectors, particularly in environments characterised by rapid technological change, sustainability challenges and evolving customer expectations.

This course is delivered one evening per week for one semester.

1	Innovation & Creativity The aim of this module is to provide learners with the basic skills, knowledge and competencies required to apply lateral thinking techniques in a challenging business environment. It is recommended to allow 5 hours per week per 5-credit module and 10 hours per week per 10-credit module.

Coursework may comprise a mix of assessment approaches, such as: reports, practicals, presentations, portfolios, class tests, quizzes, group work and integrated assessment.

Leaving Certificate Minimum Five O6/H7 English or Irish O6/H7 Maths F2/O6/H7 or QQI/FET Level 5, OR equivalent qualification. Candidates who do not meet the above entry requirements may be admitted to the programme on the grounds of mature years (0ver 23 by 1st January in the proposed year of entry), if they have attained appropriate experience, preferably in a business environment.

This course is funded by the Micro-credential Learner Fee Subsidy 2026 programme and fees are subsidised at 80% for all eligible learner categories. Eligible learners can expect to pay €200 for this programme as part of this initiative.
