Course Overview
General nursing involves caring for people of all ages both in hospital and community care settings. This programme will give you the knowledge and skills you need to work as a general nurse both in Ireland and other countries. You will spend time in class and in our specially built clinical skills labs.
What is great about this is that when you go on your student placement you will be prepared to deal with the daily challenges of caring for patients. Students usually do their work placements in the Mayo/Roscommon/Galway region.
In fourth year you will undertake a thirty-six week paid internship, where you will gain more valuable practical experience. We also give you time each week when you can take time out from work to think and reflect on your work experience.
