ATU Mayo

With a population of over 12,000, Castlebar is the main town in County Mayo, and is home to ATU’s Mayo campus. Situated only 28 miles from Ireland West Airport Knock, Castlebar has much to offer residents, students and visitors.

In 1994, the Mayo campus opened its doors in the west wing of St Mary’s hospital and today is a thriving destination with over 1,000 students. The original building has been sensitively restored to retain much of the original architecture, while providing the modern facilities and services required for students and staff.
ATU Mayo offers courses in nursing, social care, early childhood education and care, community development and youth work, outdoor education, and history and geography at undergraduate and postgraduate level There are also numerous courses  available for adults wishing to get back into education both full and part-time. In 2011, it became the first Institute of Technology campus in Ireland to be awarded Green Campus status.
