Induction is an important part of starting your journey at Atlantic Technological University. It’s your opportunity to settle into university life, meet your lecturers and fellow students, explore your campus and learn about the supports and services available to you.

International student induction sessions will be held on Wednesday September 9th 2026. Campus specific information can be found below.

Galway City, Dublin Road campus

Date: Wednesday September 9th 2026

9:00am: Meet at ATU’s Galway City, Dublin Road campus

Induction will take place in Room 903, with a full day of information sessions and fun activities planned.

Please note this induction is for all new non-EU students who will be attending our Galway City, Dublin Road; Galway City, Wellpark Road; Mayo; Mountbellew and Connemara campuses.

Following the completion of the International Student Induction Days on Wednesday 9th September 2026, students will then join ATU induction sessions for all new students across our campuses. More information can be found below.

Donegal Letterkenny campus

Date: Wednesday September 9th 2026

10:30am – 11.00am: Meet at the main reception. New students will be greeted by ATU Global staff and Senior International Student Ambassadors, and will also receive a welcome gift bag.

11:00am – 11.10am: Welcome and opening address by JJ McColgan, ATU International Officer

11:10am – 11:55am: Welcome and talks from ATU academic staff Thomas Dowling, Jade Lyons, Emmett Kerr and Paul Corey

11:55am – 12:05pm: Student Support Services presentation

12:05pm – 12:15pm: ATU Students’ Union presentation

12:15pm – 12:30pm: Orientation talk (IRP, PPSN, Bank Accounts) by Ansh Mahajan, ATU Project Officer

12:30pm – 12:35pm: International Student Ambassador Programme overview

12:35pm – 12:45pm: Closing remarks by JJ McColgan and Ansh Mahajan

12:45pm – 12:55pm: Group Photo

12:55pm – 1:55pm: Lunch at Blasta (Donegal Letterkenny campus canteen)

1:55pm – 2:15pm: Campus Tour

Sligo campus

Date: Wednesday September 9th 2026

10:00am – 10:30am: Welcome and registration. Please meet at the main reception. Tea and coffee will also be provided.

10:30am – 12:00pm: Information session in lecture theatre A0005.

12:00pm – 2:00pm: Ice breakers and lunch.

2:00pm – 2:45pm: Information sessions. Non-EU immigration and Erasmus+ students.

2:45pm – 3:30pm: Campus tour and letters of registration.

6:30pm – 11:00pm: Welcome party. Details will be revealed during induction!
