Using the Library
The library is a valuable resource to support you. By exploring how to use the library, you’ll discover a wealth of information that can enhance your learning and contribute to your academic success. We strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcomed, supported and equipped to discover and engage with the library, ensuring you to make the most of the resources and services available.
Getting Started
Whether it’s your first time on campus or your first time using the library for a while, we have all the information you need to get you started in our ‘Getting Started Guide’.
My Library Account
All current registered ATU students and staff have a personal library account which shows the items you have on loan and the date they are due back. ‘My Library Account’ allows you to request books out on loan to another user, or only available in another ATU campus, you can also renew items that you’ve borrowed.
My Dashboard and Projects
The My Dashboard feature in Search + Find and EBSCO databases is like your own personal workspace where you can keep track of things you find during your research. This feature has different sections including projects, saved items and searches. Projects allows you to collect and organise the items you find (articles, eBooks, etc.).
Study Spaces
The library offers a variety of different study spaces to cater to different learning needs and preferences. You can choose to work quietly on your own at a study desk, individually at a PC, sit in a comfortable chair and read, or work with a group of students in one of our study rooms. Please note study spaces vary across campuses, find out more or book a group space.
