Welcome Online Learners!

Whether you’re an online, flexible, remote, or distance learner, the Library’s resources, services, and supports are here for you.

You will have access to a large range of eBooks, eJournals and databases which you can use while studying off campus. We offer a postal loan service for online students living in Ireland; and of course you can use our physical library spaces too!

Our library staff are here to assist you – just ask!

Your Library Account

You can easily manage your loans, check due dates, renew books, view your search and reading history, and place holds—all from your online Library Account. Simply log into ‘My Library Account’ using your ATU email address and password.

Online leaners can borrow 4 books for 28 days with the option of 3 renewals. To ensure equitable access for all users, library books are not intended to be kept as personal copies. We kindly ask that books be returned promptly so others can browse and use them for learning and research.

Postal Loans

Online Learners can reserve both available books and those currently on loan to other students or staff. Once your requested books are ready, they will be sent to you along with an An Post return bag and a pre-paid postage label—making returns free and easy.

Please note: Postal loan services are subject to library policies, availability, and your account status.

How to Request a Postal Loan:
  1. Log into your Library Account using your ATU email address and password.
  2. Search for the book you want.
  3. Click place hold button.
  4. Click the confirm button.
  5. When the book is available for you to collect, an email will be sent to your college email address.
