‘From one breadth to the next’ showcases work by ATU postgraduate students
A public exhibition by ATU students on the MA in Creative Practice programme opened at ATU Galway City (Wellpark Road) at the weekend and runs until September 12.
Formally opened by curator, artist and writer Brendan Fox and curated by visual artist and ATU graduate Kate McSharry of Artspace Studios, the exhibition showcases the work of 21 Irish and international students from Galway, Mayo, Carlow, Cork, Dublin, Brazil, Finland, Mexico and Palestine.
It features paintings, photography, sculpture, mixed media, print, performance, installation and film.
The exhibiting artists are: Fatena Abu Mostafa, Mohammed Al Madhoun, Mark Byrne, Tommy Carew, Juliana Gazzinelli, Jasmin Glavey, Janne Hernes, Fiona Hession, Abdelrahman Ismail, Bernie Joyce, Leticia Luiza de Oliviera, Deborah Mirand Roldan, Liz Moran, Kyle Moylan, Teresa Mulholland, Eva O’Byrne, Scott Sheridan, Mariana Tang, Miriam Villacastin Sanchez, Tracy Watson and Mariola Wiazowska.
Celine Curtin, Head of Dept of Creative Arts and Media, said:
The students’ work is a representation of their lived experience and a culmination of their critical reflection of their practices over the course of the programme.
