Visitors will have the opportunity to engage directly with academic staff from a wide range of disciplines, including Business and Social Sciences, Engineering and Computing, Design, Science, Education, Home Economics, Food Business, and Nursing. In addition, representatives from Student Support Services will be on hand to provide guidance on admissions, financial and student supports, disability and learning services, and international study opportunities through Erasmus+.
Fiona Kelly, Marketing Manager at ATU, commented:
Choosing the right university is one of the most important decisions a student will make. ATU’s Open Days are designed to give students a real sense of what it’s like to study and live in the west and north-west regions. From meeting our dedicated staff and student ambassadors to exploring our modern facilities, these events are about helping students find the right fit for their future. This year we introduced new programmes at ATU, our Master of Pharmacy programme at the Sligo campus has been a welcomed addition to ATU’s programme portfolio. Attending an Open Day gives prospective students a chance to connect with academic teams, current students on these programmes – to get a feel for university life.
The Open Days also showcase the vibrant student life at ATU, with clubs, societies, and student-led activities on display. Guided campus tours, led by current students, will offer insights into academic facilities, social spaces, and the overall campus experience.
To ensure a comprehensive visit, a free shuttle bus service will operate between the Sligo and St Angela’s campuses throughout both days. Additional transport will be available to tour nearby student accommodation villages, giving attendees a full picture of life at ATU.
As a special bonus, attendees will receive a ‘Sligo Discount Sheet’, offering up to 15% off at selected local cafés, restaurants, and retail outlets in Sligo, Strandhill, and Rosses Point.
