Breege was recognised for her exceptional leadership and influence in the global medical technology sector. With a career spanning over 30 years, she has built a reputation as a transformative force in quality systems, operational excellence, and strategic consultancy for MedTech companies.

Her professional journey includes a distinguished tenure as Vice President of Global Quality Engineering and Services at Medtronic Inc., the world’s largest medical device company. In that role, she led global teams of engineers and scientists across Europe, the US, and Asia, driving system-wide improvements and fostering a culture of excellence. She was one of seven distinguished alumni recognised at the 2025 ATU Alumni Awards, which celebrated graduates who have demonstrated determination, ambition, and impact across a wide range of sectors. Other recipients included leaders in journalism, business, engineering, sport, and health sciences:

The awards were formally presented during ATU’s Spring Conferring Ceremonies, which took place on 29 April (ATU Donegal), 30 April (ATU Sligo), and 01 May (ATU Galway Mayo). These events celebrated the graduating Class of 2025 as well as the outstanding accomplishments of ATU alumni.

Breege Conroy Walsh exemplifies what it means to lead with purpose, transform with vision, and make a difference globally. We are proud to recognise her achievements and those of our fellow alumni who continue to shape the future through their work.”
