ATU Annual Charity 5K returns for 2026
ATU will hold its 14th annual charity 5K on its Letterkenny campus on Tuesday April 14th, 7.15pm. The event is open to the general public, staff students and children from aged 13. This community event is growing year on year and welcomes everyone and all abilities. ATU extends its gratitude for the support it has received from PGIM since 2024 and again in 2026.
This year’s charity is Cancer Care West, Donegal Cancer Support Centre, providers of a welcoming, confidential space where anyone affected by cancer can access free counselling, practical guidance and complementary therapies. ‘We see every day how much this support means to patients and their families and community fundraising events like the ATU 5K help ensure we can continue to be there when we’re needed most.” — Patricia Doherty, Cancer Care West Donegal
ATU Sports Centre manager, Helen Kennedy states that ‘ATU’s annual charity 5K in Letterkenny is an ever-growing community event which welcomes everyone and all abilities. Cancer Care West, Donegal Support Centre, is the nominated charity this year who, along with our sponsors PGIM, we are delighted to support. All entry fees will go directly to the charity to sustain its vital services. ATU extends thanks to all participants, organisers, volunteers and sponsor whose support each year has helped ATU’s 5K grow into an event of great community spirit and generosity’.
The 5K starts and ends at ATU Sports Centre, Port Road, Letterkenny. Refreshments served afterwards. Free T-shirts for the first 200 to register online with category prizes for participants and refreshments served after the event.
Registration is online via ATU 5k 2026 | njuko.com or in-person on the evening of the event, pre 7pm.
A Walk / Jog Clubtakes place on Mondays at 5.30pm, and Wednesdays 8.15am from ATU Donegal Sports Centre. All are welcome to come along for an accompanied walk or jog – and it’s free of charge.
