Programme Overview

This module explores the role of epidemiology in health improvement, health protection, and health service delivery, with a focus on sustainability in health management.

Participants will gain skills in epidemiological study design, critical appraisal of studies, and interpreting and communicating health-related outcomes.

Virtual Sessions

Eligibility & Requirements

Fields of Expertise: Open to all disciplines related to health, data science, policy, and sustainability.
Selection Criteria: Applicants must submit a rationale for taking this module.
Technical Requirements: Participants must bring a university laptop with access to MS PowerPoint & Excel (moderate proficiency required).

Learning Outcomes

Ability to describe the health of a population by person, time and place.
Interpret basic statistical methods within epidemiological papers.  
Formulate appropriate questions and search strategies and assess evidence for developing recommendations for practice.  
Assess and appraise the effectiveness of public health interventions or services.
