Enabling Maths
The Enabling Mathematics course provides enhanced progression opportunities and pathways for learners consistent with the Further Education and Training Strategy and the National Strategy for Higher Education 2030.
This Free Enabling Mathematics course gives participants a second chance to succeed in mathematics to reach the minimum entry requirements to enter a wide range of courses at ATU.
Course Details
- The course commences after the publication of Leaving Cert results. Date for 2025 TBC.
- Classes are held online via Microsoft Teams, and the course will usually take 8 days.
- The course assessment is of an equivalent standard to the current Leaving Certificate Ordinary Mathematics paper.
- Applicants who are otherwise eligible but lack a pass in ordinary and higher-level Maths are ideal participants for this programme.
- Passing a qualifying maths programme at ATU will compensate for failure to matriculate in maths via the Leaving Certificate or equivalent school-leaving exam. It will not compensate for any other deficit in the entry requirements.
- Students passing the Enabling Mathematics Course will be eligible for a place on ATU programmes where the Maths entry requirement is Ordinary Level Maths at 06/H7. There are some programmes where the Enabling Mathematics course is not accepted for entry.
- Successful students will be required to participate in on-going maths support throughout Year 1 delivered by the maths support centre in the campus of study.
- The full course timetable will be available here once the Leaving Cert results date is published.
